Description
BitKit Athenian Sunflowers folk embroidery kit’s charming design originates in a vintage needlework booklet from Greece. It’s stylized sunflowers alternate with large Xs, motifs common in many Greek folk embroideries and would have most likely been used as a border for cushion covers. The color palette is fresh and vibrant and the outlining stitches worked in grey-brown provide intricacy and contrast. Kit includes: 26ct 100% cotton Traditional Groundcloth in natural, DMC 100% cotton embroidery floss, John James size 24 needle, full color charts and instructions.

Please note: the drawn thread hem finishing shown in the photos has to be done after the design is stitched; the fabric in your kit will come with the raw edges serged so they don’t unravel while you are stitching.
