These are my favorite hoops of all time! Nurge hoops are superior quality embroidery hoops made from hard beechwood ~ fine sanded and hand polished for a super smooth natural wood finish. With a brass screw adjuster & fittings. The 16mm width is double the standard embroidery hoop width of ~ 1/3″ and is roughly 1/2″. One photo shows a standard size hoop next to this one for comparison.
